Help Keep the Doof Alive

Our homelands are under threat by those who don't understand what a gift the doof is to society as a whole.

The Re-Generation was born from festival culture. The chance to see the best of what humans are capable of, and what happens when we all collaborate and put our creativity and intelligence together to create something beautiful, lit the flame of hope that can never be extinguished.

However the doof is vulnerable and must be protected. Rainbow and how many other festivals have fallen victim to bureaucratic cruelty that fails to see the benefits they offer to the Australian community. What a tragedy is is to keep seeing our beautiful inclusive culture getting demonised in the media.

We need to do something about it. We have to stand up for what we love and showcase the spirit and values of the doof to the wider world.

The people who put on festivals are some of the most talented, intelligent and devoted people around and should be commended for their heroic efforts. They pour their hearts, bodies and souls into creating magic for us all to share as one community.

We all vote, pay taxes and contribute to society. Together we have more power than we realise.

Let's come together to express our feelings to those who represent us and the broader community. We need to come together to make sure our voices are heard and the narrative isn't hijacked by those who would be happy to shut us down without having any idea what it's all about.

An important way we can do this is sending an email or making a phone call to our local MPs telling them how much festivals mean to us and the impact they have had on your life. We can let them know support for festival culture is what will be deciding our vote at the next election.

Sometimes elections are decided by a couple of hundred or thousand votes and there's a lot of us around. We can be a force to be reckoned with if we come together.
